Flats at Dupont Circle
Once an Embassy Suites hotel, the Flats at Dupont Circle project was a full scale renovation to luxury apartments geared toward providing tenants with the ultimate refuge from the hectic pace of the world. To that end, light was essential, and we dramatically brightened up the Flats at Dupont Circle lobby and reception area with white granite flooring, a selection of curvaceous, retro-inspired furnishings and a muted color palette. We kept the original chandelier, as it provides an interesting contrast to the more contemporary aesthetic of the space. Sheer window treatments allow for plenty of natural light and a glimpse at the grounds of the Flats at Dupont Circle, while a variety of organic touches, such as bamboo sticks in stone vases, soften the overall look. The Click! Cafe cyber lounge and conference area was well-lit to begin with, so we infused the space with color and texture that give it incredible ambience. The dark purple couch and slate black walls are brought to life by the various types of polka dot printed fabrics found on the pillows, area rug and bar chairs. The kitchenette adds even more function to the space, making it the perfect area for meetings, conferences and other social gatherings. Once an unfinished basement, the zen-inspired fitness area takes its harmonious ambience from the lime green and powder blue painted walls and light wood flooring. The space is illuminated by a wall of windows that provides plenty of natural light, thus making our goal of illuminating the Flats at Dupont Circle a success.
