Two Park Crest
Completion: Fall 2013
The overarching design concept for Two Park Crest was to combine traditional design with modern elements for a look that’s both nostalgic and memorable. In the entry way of Two Park Crest (seen above), cool grey millwork walls lend an air of serenity while the white marble and onyx floor provides a stark contrast to the classically-designed upholstered chairs, which were used in lieu of a traditional sofa. One of the chairs features a reversed fabric pattern, a small detail that adds subtle texture to the overall look of the room.
The lounge area of Two Park Crest was created to host a variety of events for the tenants, so the design had to be unique as well as functional. The sitting area is flanked with traditional Corinthian columns lacquered to a high gloss for a contemporary spin. The coffered ceiling features insets of white crocodile-textured fabric and from it hangs a chandelier composed of intertwined crystal rings. A classic settee upholstered in a daring green and black tiger print fabric adds an unmistakable accent piece to the room. The dining area features black and beige herringbone wood floors that visually define the space and high backed chairs were used for a more unique look.
The living units of Two Park Crest were done in clean lines and neutral tones for a look that is modern, yet warm and comfortable. Moveable carts were used in certain units instead of traditional islands to allow for more variation within the space. The overhead lighting in the kitchen is adjustable, providing soft, yet effective illumination.
Two Park Crest is designed to achieve LEED® Gold certification. The project’s sustainable features include enhanced commissioning of mechanical systems, water efficient fixtures, superior insulation and weather barrier, renewable and durable materials, high performance glass, fluorescent lighting, construction waste management, and superior indoor air quality.
