OUR STORY
LDA Studios is a hospitality-minded interior design studio known for our editorial eye and confident point of view. The work is grounded in a deep understanding of how people inhabit space, paired with a love of shaping environments that feel layered and full of personality. Intentionally small and deeply hands-on, we work closely with clients and collaborators to carry ideas through with clarity and care.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Hospitality is the lens through which we approach every project. It’s an instinct we return to again and again—thinking about how people move through a space, where they feel at ease, and what invites them to stay a little longer. From there, we design with real life in mind, creating interiors that feel welcoming, expressive, and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them.
Our process starts with curiosity and an open creative process. We explore ideas fully, then pare them back through editing and restraint, focusing on what strengthens the larger story. This approach creates interiors that feel resolved and confident, without losing the richness that comes from thoughtful exploration.
We’re drawn to work that has a point of view. That often means embracing contrast, where juxtaposition becomes a deliberate tool, and polish and grit work in dialogue. These tensions bring depth and intrigue to the work, creating environments that feel memorable and full of character.
The scale of our studio is intentional. Staying small allows us to remain close to the work as it unfolds. When you work with LDA, you’re working directly with the team shaping the ideas from start to finish. That closeness shapes how we collaborate and how ideas carry through, creating a culture built on trust and shared authorship.

Elyse Linowes
Elyse Linowes, Founder and Principal Designer of Linowes Design Studio brings over three decades of expertise to the art of interior design. From the firm’s studio in North Bethesda, Maryland, she leads a practice known for refined multifamily, hospitality, and boutique interior environments. Collaborating with prominent national developers and property owners, Elyse & her team guide projects from new ground-up developments to the revitalization of existing properties. LDA’s work reflects a thoughtful balance of creativity, sophistication, and an unwavering dedication to client relationships built over decades.

As VP of Design, Stephanie leads with a narrative-driven approach, shaping environments where brand, space, culture, and lifestyle converge to create experiences people feel, question, and remember. With over 20 years of experience across boutique restaurants, multifamily and hospitality, she is known for connecting big ideas to structured execution while building and working collaboratively with high-performing teams. She develops the systems behind the story, creating processes that support creative risk while delivering clarity, efficiency, and strong outcomes for clients and the broader studio. At her core, she is both a disruptor and a strategist, guided by curiosity, collaboration, and a unique point of view. Her perspective is shaped by a deep appreciation for art, travel, culture, and hospitality, informing a body of work that translates diverse influences into interiors that are intentional, immersive, and unexpected.
